Fasting till Noon
Lord Krishna descends from time to time to this material world, to guide us and help us to realize and discover our forgotten eternal loving relationship with Him.
He sometimes also sends His own intimate and dear associate to do this! His Divine Grace A. C Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada was this rare and special associate, who changed the course of history in many ways by giving the poor souls of Kaliyuga the glorious process of Bhakti. He appeared one day after his dear Lord Sri Krishna Appearance Day. This occurred in the year 1896 on the auspicious day of Nandotsav, in Kolkata at the house of Gaurmohan dey, and was named Abhay Charan Dey.
How Srila Prabhupada spread this Krishna consciousness all over the world, his lifetime of preparation, taking Sannyasa, coming from sacred Sri Vrindavana Dhama to America,at the age of 69 years., alone, with only his own translated Srimad Bhagavatam as his possession, and then later establishing the International society of Krishna Consciousness, ISKCON, all over the world travelling the globe tirelessly and compassionately many times at an advanced age, and all his other amazing activities, can only be understood as his being completely and especially empowered by Lord Sri Krishna! Numerous books have been written about his amazing feats, and many will be written in the times to come about him!
He showed also how humility, the possession of a real devotee, is something very rare and is the greatest power.
When Srila Prabhupada was asked by a reporter, are you the Guru of everyone, he answered, “I am everyone’s servant.”
And when a reporter in London, asked, “What is the need for you come here?”, he answered, “You have taken everything out of India, but you forgot the most valuable there, and I have come to bring you that! The most valuable thing is the culture of India, Sanskriti, and the religion of India, and that will save the whole world!“
This is a very special day for all ISKCON devotees as they joyfully glorify Srila Prabhupada, the Founder-Acharya of ISKCON, on the anniversary of his appearance in this world. Devotees honour him by reading aloud heartfelt appreciations and homages of his profound influence in their lives and pray for blessings from him.
