HH Mahadyuti Swami

HH Mahadyuti Swami is coming to Antwerpen on 22 Dec. 2019 for Krishna Katha, following by Gurupuja, kirtan and prasadam dinner (vegetarian meal).

I joined ISKCON in Honolulu, November  1971, when Gaurasundara dasa and Govinda dasi were there. I was a bit obstreperous, so I didn’t get initiated by Srila Prabhupada until January 1974 (in San Juan, Puerto Rico) at a time when almost anyone who had been in the temple for six months was automatically initiated.

In the summer of 1974, at RY in San Francisco, Satsvarupa Maharaja was just leaving his service as Prabhupada’s secretary to become the head of the Library Party, which, at the time, consisted of Mahabuddhi Prabhu, Subhananda Prabhu, and Ghanasyama Prabhu (later Bhakti-Tirtha Swami). Satsvarupa Maharaja recruited me to join them. That’s where I stayed, with the Library Party, until late 1976 when I became the Dallas TP.
The next summer I got married, but the marriage broke up less than two years later, and I became (and still am) what one might call a vanaprastha.
After Srila Prabhupada left his body, I felt really lost in the chaos of ISKCON in America. So I relocated to England in the summer of 1983, where my service became recruiting new devotees at Soho Street in London.
From early 1985 to early 1988 I was in charge of the preaching in Portugal. The next few years I traveled and preached, mostly in Europe, and I spent several months in New York. In October 1992 I returned to Soho and got involved in temple
and restaurant management. I resigned those services by the summer of 1994.
For the next couple of years, I didn’t have much engagement though for about six months I ran a small bhakta program and took out the daily harinama party. I also studied writing and comedy for preaching purposes.
In early 1996 I became the TP in Soho, a role I stuck with until the summer of 2007. Since then, I’ve been traveling and preaching, mostly in Europe.
